Department of Communication Disorders Sciences held an awareness exhibition titled "Let's Be Aware... Communication Disorders" at The Avenues Mall.

Under the patronage and in the presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Life Sciences, Dr. Ahmed Rashid Al-Lafi, the Department of Communication Disorders Sciences held an awareness exhibition titled "Let's Be Aware... Communication Disorders." The exhibition took place from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at The Avenues Mall. 

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Sanaa Al-Bustan, Acting Head of the Department of Communication Disorders Sciences and Professor of the "Special Training in Family Care" course at the College of Life Sciences. The exhibition showcased the final projects of students in the course, which specifically support families. Dr. Al-Bustan stated that the department and the college are always ready to provide science and knowledge to the community, especially to families of individuals with communication disorders. She emphasized that the cooperation of families with relevant authorities and their early awareness of these conditions greatly contributes to facilitating the treatment process. 

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Bustan expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the department and the college in supporting the community. Hadeel Ayad from the Department of Communication Disorders expressed her delight at this inaugural event, where students from the "Special Training in Family Care" course presented and explained their projects, raising community awareness about the causes of swallowing and speech disorders, autism, and other conditions. The event also aimed to educate the public about the challenges faced by individuals with these disorders, fostering greater understanding among families and the wider community.

Similarly, Bibi Al-Awadhi, a student in the course and one of the exhibition organizers, emphasized that the event was designed to educate the community about various disorders, which are an integral part of society, and to highlight the importance of early intervention. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to and organized the exhibition, with special thanks to the Acting Head of the Department and the course instructor, Dr. Sanaa Al-Bustan, for her dedicated efforts and confidence in the students. 

In closing, Dr. Ahmed Rashid Al-Lafi, Acting Dean of the College of Life Sciences, expressed his satisfaction with the awareness campaign, affirming that such initiatives align with the college's policy of supporting families within Kuwaiti society. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sanaa Al-Bustan, the student organizers, and all supporting entities for their efforts, wishing everyone continued success. It is worth noting that the exhibition witnessed a large turnout of parents, interested individuals, students, specialists from health organizations, and faculty members from the College of Life Sciences and other colleges, confirming Kuwait University's commitment to being an active member of the community.
