Information Sciences at the College of Life Sciences Organizes a Seminar on the Art of Entrepreneurship in Kuwait

The Information Sciences Department at the College of Life Sciences organized a seminar titled “The Art of Entrepreneurship in Kuwait,” presented by leadership and organizational change specialist Dr. بدر الزيد الطريجي. The seminar was held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the college.
The seminar was part of the department’s commitment to promoting awareness of entrepreneurial culture among students and shedding light on the business environment in the State of Kuwait, as well as the opportunities available for ambitious youth to enter the world of private ventures. During his talk, Dr. Al-Turaiji reviewed several concepts related to entrepreneurship, clarifying the difference between common perceptions and the actual reality of the labor market. He emphasized that Kuwait’s environment is considered supportive of small and medium enterprises compared to many other countries.
He explained that entrepreneurship represents a genuine opportunity for anyone seeking to build their own project and achieve independence. He noted that challenges are a natural part of any entrepreneur’s journey and that success in this field requires awareness, focus, and the ability to understand market dynamics and adapt to ongoing changes.
He also pointed out that Kuwait holds promising opportunities in several sectors, opening the door for young people and idea holders to transform their projects into tangible realities. He encouraged making use of the support provided by the National Fund for the Care and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and relevant authorities, and urged aspiring entrepreneurs not to hesitate in pursuing the experience while continuously developing their skills.
Dr. Al-Turaiji affirmed that entrepreneurship is not limited to generating profits; it also encompasses achieving personal, psychological, social, and financial independence. He explained that success begins with an idea, continues through learning, and grows through persistence and hard work.
The seminar witnessed notable attendance and engagement from students and individuals interested in entrepreneurship, with numerous questions and discussions reflecting growing interest in freelance culture and entrepreneurial initiatives.
In conclusion, Dr. بدر الزيد الطريجي was honored by Dr. Fatima Hussein, Head of the Department’s Social Committee, in recognition of his valuable contributions that enriched students’ knowledge and motivated them to pursue entrepreneurship.
