The College of Life Sciences launched the first PyData Kuwait event, through a lecture entitled "Data Science: Shaping the Present and Transforming the Future" where the launch of the PyData Kuwait program was announced, which represents a pioneering platform that aims to support the data community in Kuwait by organizing events, workshops and educational activities.
The organizers emphasized during the opening speech the program's vision in empowering scientists and those interested in data science and artificial intelligence, and enhancing the use of modern technologies in various sectors to achieve sustainable development. They announced the allocation of a special office for PyData Kuwait in the College of Life Sciences, to be a gathering point for the academic community and those interested in data science. The objectives of PyData Kuwait were also discussed, which include spreading awareness of the importance of data science, in building a strong community that shares experiences and knowledge and supporting young people to excel in the fields of artificial intelligence and its analysis.
In this regard, Associate Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Hanadi Abdul Salam, gave a lecture in which she shed light on the development of artificial intelligence, the reasons for its spread, and the practical applications of data science. She also discussed the basic skills that data scientists need today to meet the requirements of the modern era, and the importance of data science in shaping the future of Kuwait and its positive impact on individuals and societies. This lecture is the launch of the PyData Kuwait program, which seeks to be an incubator for the data community in Kuwait, and to support innovation and the development of the skills necessary to keep pace with the digital revolution. The PyData Kuwait books in the College of Life Sciences also provide a dedicated space for exchanging ideas and organizing future activities.
