Dr. Zainab Al-Maraj, Assistant Professor at the College of Life Sciences, delivered a workshop titled “Digital Accessibility and the Law: How Can We Drive Change?”. The workshop was part of the Cultural Season lecture series organized by the Kuwait Association for Families of Persons with Disabilities with the support of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). The workshop addressed the basic concepts of digital accessibility and built environment accessibility, focusing on the significant gap between the interest in these two areas in Kuwait. It also highlighted the importance of empowering individuals to advocate for their rights and raising awareness to achieve tangible progress towards inclusive environments.
The workshop was distinguished by the presence of an interactive and inspiring audience, as it witnessed lively discussions on practical steps that can be taken to support inclusion and achieve social justice for individuals with disabilities. Dr. Zainab pointed out the importance of the role of society in bringing about positive change through collective action and insistence on demanding rights.
