The Department of Information Sciences in the College of Life Sciences held a lecture "Orientation Day" for new and continuing students for the current academic year at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, 11/20/2024.
At the beginning, the Head of the Student Guidance Unit and a member of the academic staff in the Scientific Department, Dr. Sheikha Al-Duaij, welcomed the attendees and reviewed the graduation papers for them. She also explained the correct registration plan for new students who attended the meeting, stressing the need to pay attention to the academic average.
She indicated that in the event of any problem related to the major subjects, it is necessary to resort to the Scientific Department in order to receive guidance and direction, stressing that the academic advisor affiliated with the Scientific Department or the academic advisor affiliated with the Guidance and Counseling Office will guide the student to avoid any academic failure.
On the other hand, the Head of the Student Guidance Unit at the Guidance and Counseling Office, Ms. Abrar Al-Shiha, pointed out the importance of this seminar to develop a study plan that introduces new students to the main requirements in the graduation certificate and how to use the student guide to avoid students' academic failure at the university. She also explained the internal or external transfer plan for those who wanted to transfer, noting that internal transfer is allowed only once.
At the end, the floor was opened for questions and discussion with the attendees, and guidebooks were distributed to know the subjects required to be passed before specialization.
