College of Life Sciences at Kuwait University organized a lecture entitled "Leading Digital Transformation in the Health Sector" as part of the "Leadership Development" course, hosting the Director of the Farwaniya Health District at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Rashidi. At the beginning, after welcoming the attendees, Dr. Al-Rashidi reviewed his experiences and expertise in leading digital transformation efforts within the health sector, addressing the most prominent challenges and opportunities facing health institutions in Kuwait. He also touched on the importance of digital transformation in improving the quality of health services, speeding up their access to citizens, and its role in enhancing the efficiency of administrative and clinical operations. He presented the attendees with live examples of digital transformation projects that have been implemented, pointing to the vital role of technology in facing emerging health challenges and achieving sustainable development goals. He also touched on the importance of leaders in the health sector having the ability to adapt to ongoing technological developments and working to develop their leadership skills in line with the requirements of the era. In conclusion, the course instructor and academic staff member in the Department of Information Sciences, Dr. Dhari Adel Al-Huwail said that hosting national figures with rich experience comes within the framework of the college’s keenness to enrich students’ knowledge and enable them to closely view distinguished models in leadership and field work, adding that such meetings enhance students’ understanding of real challenges and help them link the theoretical concepts they receive in the courses with real experiences, which enhances their readiness to enter the labor market and deal effectively with practical situations in the future.
