College of Life Sciences Holds a Lecture on “Clinical Ethics”

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Department of Communication Disorders at the College of Life Sciences, Kuwait University, organized a lecture titled “Clinical Ethics”, presented by Speech and Language Specialist Ali Rajab.
The session was held for students enrolled in the Professional Practice (2) and Field Training courses, under the supervision of Dr. Maram Al-Khaldi from the Department of Communication Disorders.

During the lecture, Mr. Rajab discussed ethical principles and Kuwaiti laws related to healthcare, and explored ethical dilemmas that speech and language specialists may encounter in professional settings. He emphasized the importance of adhering to professional and humanitarian values when working with elderly patients.

This lecture aligns with the State Ministry for National Assembly Affairs’ emphasis on Kuwait’s commitment to ensuring a dignified life for senior citizens, in accordance with Article (11) of the Constitution — which mandates providing assistance, healthcare, and social support to citizens in cases of old age or incapacity — and Article (15), which highlights the state’s responsibility for public health and disease prevention and treatment.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Maram Al-Khaldi presented a token of appreciation to Specialist Ali Rajab in recognition of his valuable contribution to enriching students’ knowledge.
