The event took place at the Roman Theater in the College of Life Sciences on Monday, October 5, 2026.
At the beginning of the event, Ms. Munira Al-Marzouq, Director of the Office of Guidance and Counseling, welcomed the attendees and opened the session by offering a number of valuable tips. She emphasized the importance of remaining focused on academic goals and following the proper academic progression. She also highlighted the importance of students’ psychological and social well-being throughout university life, noting that these factors can have an impact on students’ overall GPA and choice of major.
On this occasion, Ms. Abrar Al-Sheha, Head of the Student Counseling Unit at the Office of Guidance and Counseling, introduced attendees to the office’s various units and explained the role of each one. She highlighted the important role of the Office of Guidance and Counseling in assisting students by responding to their academic inquiries and providing the support needed to successfully complete their studies.
She stressed that students should obtain information regarding graduation requirements, transfer conditions, registration dates, and official links directly from the College’s Office of Guidance and Counseling rather than relying on WhatsApp groups. She also pointed out that important announcements are regularly posted on the social media platforms of the Office of Guidance and Counseling and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
She added that students may contact the office through Microsoft Teams or visit the office in person with their inquiries. She also explained graduation requirement sheets, the academic major roadmap, and the requirements for internal and external transfers. In addition, she emphasized the importance of regularly attending lectures.
In this regard, Ms. Haya Al-Shaheen, Head of the Student Affairs Unit, stressed the importance of consulting the Office of Guidance and Counseling if a student receives a GPA warning. She also explained the university’s regulations and policies, emphasizing that students should never share the password to their university accounts with anyone in order to avoid potential problems or unauthorized actions that could occur without their knowledge.
The orientation meeting reflects Kuwait University’s commitment to familiarizing students with university regulations and policies, as well as providing them with a clear understanding of the academic process and course registration procedures.
