Research Interest: Assistant professor Maram Alkhaledi writes and researches in the areas of stuttering, particularly in the assessment, treatment and management of stuttering among children, adolescents and adults. Dr Alkhaledi has special interest in the impact of social anxiety disorder on individuals who stutter. Dr Alkhaledi also has interest in the assessment and management of dysphagia in adults with neurogenic disorders, and has also worked with healthcare professionals in the speech and swallowing management of cleft lip and palate individuals. She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and an International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) fluency committee member. Currently Dr Alkhaledi teaches and researches full time at the department of Communication Disorders Sciences and the College of Life Sciences.
