In line with the College of Life Sciences at Kuwait University’s focus on promoting students’ psychological and academic well-being, the Guidance and Counseling Office held a student lecture entitled “The Quality of Your University Life.” The lecture was presented by Ms. Muneera Al-Marzouq, Director of the Guidance and Counseling Office and counselor in life quality improvement, under the patronage of Dr. Sharefa Al-Kandari, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

Ms. Al-Marzouq began by explaining the concept of quality of life from a comprehensive psychological and social perspective, highlighting its importance as a cornerstone for achieving balance between academic demands and the student’s personal and emotional needs. She emphasized the importance of students recognizing the factors that influence their daily quality of life on campus—such as the learning environment, social relationships, time management, and care for both mental and physical health.

She also discussed the five pillars of psychological quality of life, explaining how each pillar contributes to building a well-balanced personality capable of dealing with the pressures of university life with positivity and resilience. She stressed that sound behavior and self-awareness are two essential keys to attaining a good life—one that reflects positively on academic performance and social relationships, while deepening a student’s sense of satisfaction, happiness, and accomplishment.

This lecture is part of a series of awareness activities organized by the office to enhance students’ mental health and help them achieve balance between their academic and personal lives—ultimately enriching their university experience and improving their overall quality of life.
